Refund Policy

Last updated: 19 May 2026

In plain English

1. Who we are and who handles your payment

This Refund Policy applies to paid KindTally subscriptions. KindTally is operated by Karl Newton, trading as KindTally, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

Paid KindTally subscriptions are sold and processed through Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"). Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record for all paid KindTally transactions. This means Paddle is responsible for processing your payment, issuing receipts and invoices, collecting and remitting applicable taxes, and handling refunds. KindTally provides and supports the app itself.

Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, all refunds are processed through Paddle and refunded to the original payment method. Karl Newton trading as KindTally does not refund customers by direct bank transfer.

2. How to request a refund

You have two simple ways to request a refund:

When you contact us, please include the email address used at checkout and, if you have it, the Paddle order number from your receipt. This helps us match your request quickly.

3. Refund period

First-time subscription purchases. KindTally offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, where reasonable, on your first paid subscription to KindTally, provided the request is made within 30 days of the original subscription purchase date.

Subscription renewals. Refunds on subscription renewals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We're a small team and we'd rather help where we can, so if a renewal caught you out, please get in touch as soon as possible after the renewal date and we'll do our best to sort it out fairly through Paddle.

Lifetime purchases. One-off "Lifetime" purchases are also covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee on first-time purchases. After the 30-day window, lifetime purchases are reviewed case-by-case in line with the rest of this policy.

Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

4. Cancellations

You can cancel a paid KindTally subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals — it is not, by itself, a refund request.

5. When a refund may be refused

Refunds may be reduced, partial or declined at our or Paddle's reasonable discretion in cases including, but not limited to:

Where required by law, statutory consumer rights still apply regardless of the above.

6. Taxes and VAT

Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record, Paddle collects and remits any applicable transaction taxes such as VAT and sales tax as part of your purchase. Any tax or VAT corrections, adjustments or refunds connected to a paid KindTally transaction are handled through Paddle. If you need a corrected invoice or have a tax-related query about your order, please request it via paddle.net or email support@kindtally.co.uk and we'll help direct it.

7. Processing time

Once a refund is approved by Paddle, it is normally returned to your original payment method within a few business days, depending on your bank or card provider. KindTally has no control over how long your bank takes to show the refund on your statement.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Any changes apply to purchases made after the updated date.
